ARTIST BIO

Monique Zhang‬‭ is a visual artist based in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Working primarily in painting and selected fabrics, her practice explores childhood memory as a psychological and emotional foundation rather than a nostalgic image.

Her work investigates regression to childhood as a deliberate process, examining how early sensations, subconscious memories, and formative experiences continue to influence identity in adult life. Through dreamlike imagery and intimate compositions, Zhang creates spaces where memory feels fragmented, quiet, and unresolved.
